When I practice spirituality, when I connect to my higher self, the Divine part of me, the Holy Spirit- whatever you want to call it, I am TRULY happy. I feel safe, loved, and at peace. And isn’t that what we all want? To feel those things? There are times in all of our lives when we feel more connected spiritually. Maybe you’ve felt spiritually energized after reading an awesome spiritual book, or during a brief stint with meditation or prayer. Many of us have experienced true ZEAL (to do better, be better, change the world) after hearing an epic Sunday morning sermon. But more often than not, those feelings of bliss and spiritual contentment wane, and before we know it we’ve left our new found practice in the dust.
I have found, however, that the more consistently I practice my spirituality the longer I am able to stay connected to that part of me that evokes those happy feelings. More than feelings, it’s really a state of being and that is the purpose of this blog. By writing about my spiritual walk I hope to keep myself inspired and connected and I hope to do the same for you too. I want to know how you stay connected, and how your current spiritual practice is changing you from the inside out. The Spirit Mommas slogan is “Changing Ourselves, Changing THE World” and it means just what it says. By changing ourselves we are changing the world. We too often underestimate the power that our energy has on the world. Taking missionary trips and volunteering at soup kitchens are wonderful things and we should do them, but the biggest impact we can make on the world is through ourselves. That is ALL that we are responsible for. I don’t know about you, but that takes a big weight off of my shoulders. I can make the world a better place by evolving my own soul. Like throwing a small pebble into a pond, when you show up with the good stuff and evoke the LOVE and positive energy that the world needs, you’re creating a ripple effect that has far reaching consequences. So go ahead, give yourself permission to do YOU. And while you’re at it, do it with ME. And let’s talk about it along the way 🙂
